Of the UK’s two native frog species, the common frog, is by far the one you are most likely to encounter. The pool frog, by contrast, is extremely rare. In fact, it is the rarest of all the UK’s native amphibians. It was declared extinct in the 1990s, before being successfully reintroduced from Sweden in 2005!
However, frog numbers are declining overall, with reports indicating a 17% reduction in regular sightings of common frogs between 2014 and 2018.

How your adoption will help
Throughout the world, people live side-by-side with frogs, sharing the countryside, gardens, parks, ponds, woodlands and other areas frogs have occupied.
And whilst animal lovers across the country have learnt to co-exist with their slippery neighbours, many still dislike them due to factors such as their appearance, texture and movement. As a result of this, people may not be as cautious on the roads if they encounter a frog, as opposed to a different animal.
Frogs are vital to our ecosystem, learning and understanding them as a species not only aids our general understanding of the world we live in, but it also helps to drive conservation efforts to prevent biodiversity loss and further protect our planet.
Your adoption will help us continue to look after the frogs that come through our doors, each year.
Adoption information
Adoptions are for a period of one year from the date you choose to start. We aim to send all packs within 5 to 7 days of receiving the order.
Please allow up to 7 working days for delivery, or 10 working days during peak season. Please note, all parcels are sent via Royal Mail for international orders. You can adopt an animal for yourself or for someone else.
When ordering your adoption, you can choose to have the pack sent either to yourself or to the gift recipient.
Please note, we recycle and reuse our packaging materials.
How to adopt a frog
Step 1
Select the amount you want to pay by Direct Debit each month, we require a minimum donation of £3.50 per month to cover the cost of the adoption, or if you prefer a one-off payment you can choose to donate any amount from £42
Step 2
Fill out your adoption details. If it is a gift please refer to the ‘adopting as a gift?’ section on the relevant page, before entering details.
