Rescue

Not sure we really need to tell you what these photos mean...

This adorable brother and sister, our first of what will be many, are officially cubs number 1 and 2.

At just a few days old the siblings were found alone in a car park, and thought to be kittens (easy mistake to make), but the pair were in, otherwise, great condition, making them excellent candidates for a reunite attempt.

Rehabilitation

Clearly, mum had been doing a great job with the youngsters, except for the losing them part (what mum hasn't misplaced her children at least once), so we were hoping our ever-talented cub-reunite team would be able to get the two back to mum, asap.

But, sadly, it wasn't to be, after two nights of trying, mum was a complete no-show. So they officially became our first orphans of the fox cub season.

It sounds strange, but we're over the moon that they have each other to grow up with, as in comparison to the last couple of years, the first fox cub of the year was lone, and being the first usually entails a little bit of a wait before a playmate comes along. Company for these guys is always vital for them to successfully grow up with proper fox behaviour.

After they officially became a part of the WAF family, they needed names, so, thanks to you lovely lot, you decided on Sunny & Berry.

After 6 weeks in care (where has that time gone!), the pair came back from home care and are now enjoying the space and enrichment of one of our silent units.

Look how much they've grown already!

Release

Be sure to come back in July, when the cubs will get their second chance, back to the wild.
