Rescue

A little earlier than we'd expect, seeing as our first owlet arrived in May, last year, we feared that this nestling tawny owl, would be on his own for a little longer than we'd like, and sadly as we were unable to locate his nest, he has become our first owlet orphan of the season.

Rehabilitation

Picked up from Bushy Park, the owlet was already feeding himself and was at an age where he would be branching, the process of moving away from the nest onto adjacent branches. We suspect this is how he ended up in our care, having got a little bit lost, away from his nest.

He is in vital need of company to ensure he learns proper owl etiquette, so we are currently desperately seeking a friend for him at other centres.

Release

Be sure to come back later in the season, when the owlets will get their second chance, back to the wild.
