Rescue
You are now under the spell of the enchanting and majestic "Blue". Resistance is futile, you are at the mercy of her magic! Seriously, though, look at those eyes.
Blue was discovered alone and, despite the kind efforts of her rescuer, trying to reunite her with mum was unsuccessful.
Rehabilitation
Handed into the team at Merton Blue Cross animal hospital, who did a great job stabilising Blue, getting her warm and rehydrated.
With being reared with other cubs the most important part of rearing fox cubs, Blue unfortunately was the 'middle child' of our then growing cub numbers, being too big for the little ones and too small for Gargantua, our biggest cub at the time.
Having spent some time in home-care, Blue was desperately in need of friends, so, we decided to trial her with the big boys, Gargantua and Pal, ensuring she could learn vital fox behaviour and skills whilst in her critical period of growing.
In good vixen-style, she was regularly keeping the boys in check, and was often seen instigating the play fights.
Release
On July 5th, the doors to Blue's soft-release pen were opened, offering them freedom in to a safe 20-acre wilderness.
From a tiny 500g cub to a sleek 5kg ready-to-take-on-the-wild-world vixen! Good luck, sweet Blue, we know your confidence and boss-lady traits will serve you well in your new wild life!
